Hey,
I’m Theo, a South Georgia photographer and videographer. My husband and I live on a farm in Colquitt County and I work with people all over the South to tell stories.
As we work together, the process of taking photos and recording videos will be part of your memories, so I make sure it’s as beautiful as possible. I make sure we enjoy it! The presence and the experience is the most important part; we can only capture what’s really happening. That’s why it’s so important to me that everyone feels comfortable and confident in their day and in front of the camera. My approach is unique to you, your vibe, and the texture of the day.

I consider myself a hybrid creator. To me, that means moving between editorial and documentary approaches and working with multiple media types (film and digital; photo and video).
To hit that balance, we need to bring different communication styles into the mix. Sometimes I’ll be giving you clear guidance on posing, and sometimes you’ll forget I’m even there.
My aim is to preserve each real moment as it’s fullest, most expressive memory. That’s what makes me obsessed with capturing couples on such big days. There’s huge joy and momentum, and it’s easy to lose track of everything you’re experiencing. I want you to go back to the real moments, every time you see the photos and films. I want you to keep the full feeling.
There are so many stories that haven’t gotten the kind of preservation work that photo and video provides. That’s why I particularly love working with other queer, lgbtq+, and trans people.
Several useful questions and their answers
Where are you located?
Do you travel?
My home base is in Doerun, Georgia. Moultrie, Thomasville, Albany, Valdosta, and Tallahassee are real close by. Plus, I’m in the Atlanta and Athens area often.
I’m available for local and national bookings.
What counts as local?
Anywhere within 150 miles of Moultrie, Georgia is considered local, meaning there’s no travel fee required!
This means I locally serve Moultrie, Thomasville, Valdosta, Albany, Cordele, Bainbridge, Perry, Macon, Tallahassee, and more and more and more.
What are prices like?
To give you an idea of my rates, individual sessions begin at $300, sessions with two or more people begin at $500, and weddings begin at $2500.
Most of the time, people love to mix-and-match photo/video/film/digital options to create their ideal set. I want to make sure you only pay for exactly what you want. By offering personalized services, you don’t have to pick between rigid packages. I have more info about pricing available over here.
Do we have to purchase individual images?
A lot of people ask if I sell images individually. The answer is absolutely not!
Every session and collection includes all of the final images. If I photograph it, film it, edit it, and deliver it, it’s yours. No per-photo pricing, no surprise upsells, no galleries where you’re shown photographs you can’t keep. You won’t be asked to choose favorites or pay extra to unlock images after the fact.
You have the right to print as many photos for personal use as you want!
If you’re booking a commercial project, this is obviously a little different since we’ll get to work with ownership rights 😉
How quickly will I receive my photos and videos?
I aim for a 7-week turnaround time for the vast majority of projects.
I want you to receive your images and videos as quickly as possible so you can start enjoying them!
The process of developing film, particularly Super 8 film, can be unpredictable at times. Once I carefully ship off the film, it generally takes at least a month for me to get my hands on the footage scans. Film requires patience, so I try to see this as more of a perk than a flaw in the system.
What do we get?
You’ll receive color and black & white versions of all your images in an online gallery with unlimited downloads. The gallery is directly connected to one of my favorite print companies, so ordering quality prints is simplified. I’ll die on the hill of quality printing, so you and trust that the physical copies won’t turn any highlights magenta.
We’ll talk about the number of images and length of video to expect when we’re booking your session. I err on the side of more is more.
Do you recommend photoshoot locations?
Yes! Over the years I’ve collected a rolodex of locations. Some are out on private land that we’d be granted access to, some are open to the public. I’m always on the hunt for more spaces that align with client’s style and vibe.
When choosing a location, I take the feeling of the space into consideration. I look for places that are beautifully lit, offer interesting shapes and framing potential, and, ideally, have a feeling of privacy.
If you already have a location or venue, I love it!
When at all possible, I scout locations prior to our session. I like to get a lay of the land so we can prioritize the most ideal spots and I can determine any extra lighting equipment that could come in handy.
What should I wear?
I love to consult on wardrobe and I’m available from day 1 to wrap. We can work together to decide what pieces are the most ideal for your shoot.
The right set of clothes can change the way you feel and I’m here to help make finding that combo of items as simple and enjoyable as possible!
In terms of more immediate advice: Of course, I always recommend wearing something you feel comfortable and confident in. There’s no dress code here!
…but, this can feel vague and hard to actually do.
Color, texture, and fit are the primary factors I like to consider. And, I find that texture and fit outrank color. From silky, flowing fabrics to wooly, dense sweaters – how texture interacts with light contributes a massive element to the final feeling of the images.
What’s your communication style?
When moments are unfolding on their own I give you space.
When it’s useful, I’m always there to offer clear, thoughtful direction.
I aim at attentive and fun, keeping the energy high and calm. I ease nerves and make sure you don’t feel rushed. I create room for you to feel comfortable. I vow I won’t leave you alone out there to ‘act natural’!
I have the pleasure of getting to know you and working to create something beautiful – your enjoyment is a key factor in that process!
Rather than a set of standard poses, our time together will be shaped by the light, movement, & connection that are happening naturally on location. By collaborating together and with the environment, we end up with visuals that are irreplicable and distinctly yours.
How do you describe your photo & video style?
My work blends a documentary approach with a cinematic eye. I deliver a mixed gallery of fully documentary, fully posed, and semi-prompted candid shots. Even with digital footage, I tend to edit for soft tones and a film-look.
I’m a big fan of romanizing everything, and I think that comes through in the way that I shoot. The real moment is what matters the most; and, the real moment is intentionally composed behind the camera. I look for the symmetry, shapes, and light that reflect the emotion.
I like to have natural variation across my work. I don’t force every image from every shoot to look the same. The final images will mirror the day. A mixture of colors, textures, and lighting tells a more interesting and more authentic story. I don’t demand all my images to have total cohesion across projects – but I do require cohesion within the story they’re a part of.
